About PHCG
The Princes Hill Community Garden group is working towards establishing a community garden in the Princes Hill area. We want to bring food production closer to home, so people can have choice about what they eat, and be informed about where it comes from.
Our aims are to enhance the sustainability of the Princes Hill Community by:
- Respecting prior ownership of the land by Indigenous Australians
- Maintaining an attractive urban space where people can grow plants predominantly for food and which is accessible to the local community to enjoy
- Promoting sustainable organic horticulture principles and fostering the sharing and development of a diversity of gardening skills
- Managing the garden by consensus in an open, participatory and non-discriminatory manner
